1. This first one is one that my mom has told me for YEARS, but I always hated doing it. CLEAN YOUR ROOM. Many times if I am studying or trying to get anything done in my room, I am distracted by how messy it is (probably because I am looking to get out of studying). Since I live in a dorm this year, the mess tends to grow and grow, but it usually only takes me about thirty minutes to put away clothes, organize my desk, and disinfect my counter and desk.

2. This second one is something I have tried for years, but ever since I came to college, I have really gotten into and its MAKE A TO-DO LIST. I put the absolute most important things I need to get done for the day at the top and work my way down. I also tend to make to-do lists of things I need to accomplish by weeks end.
3. This third one may seem obvious to some of you, but I thought I would share anyways and its KEEP/CHECK YOUR PLANNER. Keeping a planner can be hard sometimes, but being enrolled in 16 hours this semester and in a sorority, it helps to keep me on track of all I need to do and if I get something done early, I check it off so if I forget later, I can look back and see that it is already done.
4. This one is a more subtle thing, but ORGANIZE YOUR BINDER OR FOLDERS. Sometimes when I am in a rush at the end of class, I'l just throw papers into my folder and then later when I am looking for it, I can't seem to find it. Once a week, I throw away unneeded papers and place things in an order that I think will be easier for me to find later.
5. And this final tip is ORGANIZE YOUR CLOTHES. This one kind of goes along with cleaning your room, but I do this every once and a while and it helps my day to run smoother when its happened. I re-format my closet if that makes sense and I will refold my t-shirts in my drawers as well as shorts. This is just to see if I have anything I can get rid of and to make sure things don't wrinkle.
I hope these five tips help you to stay organized! I am constantly looking on Pinterest for new tips so be sure to check on there as well!
